Our own way of development

A good location of Szamotuły (the centre of the region, vicinity of Poznan) is crucial for the economic development of the town and commune. The economy of the commune is based on agriculture and industry supported by trade and services branch. A well developed technical infrastructure (energy, water, telephones and gas) as well as a wide offer of residential and industry constructions make Szamotuły a perfect location for numerous economic enterprises. All investments are supported by the existing administrative, industrial and economic structures involved in the development of the region. The town ensures also financial and legal security with the help of banks and law firms located in Szamotuły.
A reserve of human resources in Szamotuły town and commune allows to complete new investments. According to the Economic Information Centre Szamotuły took the 204 position among 500 communes with the highest number of enterprises. The level of investments 1990-2007 reached about 200 million dollars. The key companies in Szamotuły are: one of the biggest oil and fat industry companies ADM, furniture industry - Collection and Herkules, steel industry - Kentel, seats and armchairs production - Ster, fodder production - Agrifirm, trade-Tesco, fabrics and textile - Berendsen, chemistry - wood impregnate – Altax, electric and electronic equipment for engine vehicles – Starz Polska. The commune is also a place of location for a gas company – Europol Gaz.
Geographical location in the vicinity of Poznan adds attractiveness to the territory of Szamotuły in the field of residential and industrial construction both for individuals and developers. One of the main railway lines crossing Szamotuły also contributes to the importance of the town.
The attachment of Szamotuły to Poznan agglomeration positively influences the development of transportation. The Western Poznan Bypass, a part of North-South expressway 11, situated only 18 km from Szamotuły make the connection with A2 motorway more convenient.
